Self-Isolation Trend #7
The no sports trend has been going on for months and I’ve had a few different reactions throughout this trend. First phase was during the initial shock where it was still too painful to watch ESPN, check my sports notifications or watch any replays. Second phase included still not watching ESPN, glancing quickly at my sports notifications and not watching any replays. As much as I love football, I’ve never been a big fan of NFL Draft Day, but in the third phase of the no sports trend some form of sports are back and I treated NFL Draft Day like the Super Bowl and began watching ESPN Peyton Manning shows and various sports replays. I’m reading all my sports notifications, listening to Pardon the Interruption (PTI) podcasts with two of my ESPN favorites, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon (hoping every minute they return to TV), muttering about Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski (never knew I was going to have a reason to dislike Tampa Bay), looking at Bryce Harper clips and am ready to pay whatever it costs to watch the Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods golf charity match for COVID-19 relief.
