iPhone Journey – Day 6

I’ve loved the first week of my iPhone Journey and it’s brought a new energy to my blogging. I know I’m cheating using the same title, but after nine years I currently give up on title creativity. There was another great walk in temperatures below 60 degrees and it was the first walk of the week where I thought there might be hope for my numb neck. Absolutely enjoy the ease of using the iPhone for photos and blogging and while there have been moments where I had to miss shots without the Nikon, I’m finding the walks to be more relaxing. I’ve been surprised by what has caught my eye and have no idea how someone loses one sock on the sidewalk and Harper and I want to buy a home in a neighborhood that has dog biscuits available along the sidewalks.

iPhone Apps: Snapseed and Hipstamatic

Steps: 12,700

Coffee of the Day: Maple Pecan Latte

Hard Cider of the Day: Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards 1911 Established – Cider Donut Premium Small Batch Hard Cider (Lafayette, NY)

Watching: First NFL Sunday in decades without NFL Sunday Ticket. Loved when it was available through my cable company, but now that there’s a new streaming provider and my streaming budget is already out of control, I’ll have to see how long I last before adjusting the budget again.

  1. A successful venture, I’d say. Glad your neck is feeling better. I’ve given up my heavy camera, too. It is limited, but much easier to carry, for sure. Who knows, once you heal, maybe one day a week, you’ll bring the Nikon, just to keep in practice. πŸ˜‰

    1. I’m already noticing the absence of my Nikon, but trying to find new ways to sneak up on birds.😁

  3. I love train track photo, just be careful! I refuse to pay for streaming because my cable bill is already a ridiculous sum each month. Hence, I’ve never seen any of the new Star Trek series. Grr! I see a lone shoe and other clothing items along the path of my bike rides. Even underwear! 🀣 You’ve been blogging 9 years, that’s great!

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ I can’t believe how much cable and streaming costs and somehow they’ve managed to ruin both. I’ve always loved movies and tv, but I loved the old style of watching and some days I even miss Blockbuster.πŸ™‚

      1. Blockbuster, that was a few weeks back. I had a membership! My cable bill is around $230 bucks a month which is nothing short of (add expletive). No thanks, streaming services…

  4. When I walk through the neighborhood, I only take my phone. The point-and-shoot Nikon is used for specific places I expect to need zoom (bird sanctuaries and the like) and for the majority of vacation photos. Good on ya!

    1. I’ve usually carried both cameras and I’m sure some of the birds will be relieved I’m not bothering them now that it will only be the iPhone.πŸ™‚

  5. A lovely pic. I use a simple camera with a zoom, and I find the walking is much more relaxing without all the “fussing”.

  7. Great photos! And great that your walks are more relaxing without the Nikon. And the pic of Charlie Brown and friends with the leaves made me smile πŸ™‚
