Waiting For The Next Winter Storm

It looks like everyone is waiting and wondering what is in store for us with the arrival of today’s winter storm of snow, rain and high winds. Hopefully there will be a chance to run out for a latte before the storm hits. Luckily there is a great weekend of NFL playoff games and the arrival of new shows to help get through the weekend and the deep freeze that quickly follows. I’m hoping for wins by the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and enjoying several of my favorites in new shows. The top three new premieres are Mandy Patinkin in Death and Other Details, Jodie Foster in True Detective: Night Country and Clive Owen in Monsieur Spade.

    Beautifully clear here this morning, a change from our usual gray of late. It won’t last as this same storm is heading our way tonight. Ah, winter! Did you order your Yak-Trax? 😉

      They have been ordered along with trekking poles!!🙂 It’s been snowing since late this afternoon and our power went out once, but luckily came back on after a few moments. Of course, the clicking noises had Harper running through the house and if we keep power the volume on the sound machine is going up tonight.🐾🙂

        Thank you and we finally found the perfect sleeping conditions for Harper, the absolute quiet after a power outage. Hopefully we’ll have our power back today.🙂

    Hope the storm isn’t too bad and that you get that at latte. I am interested in all those shows. I haven’t listened to that Fresh Air podcast yet with Paul Giamatti, but I plan to. I really liked The Holdovers.

      I was able to get my morning latte and it’s been snowing since late afternoon. The high winds begin tonight and I hope we keep our power, it already went out once and came back on. I loved The Holdovers and it’s been added to my yearly favorite Christmas movie marathon.🙂

    You have to hope it’s snow, not a snow-rain mix – yuck…
    Still, premier league is back this weekend, so there’s that, and the opportunity to celebrate/commiserate as Everton restart the survival campaign!
    We had big, big snow midweek, more to come tomorrow, so no more whining about xc ski conditions, and we’re setting off soon for the flattest place we can find to see if we remember how to stay upright!

      Thank you!🙂 So far we’ve had plenty of snow and a power outage that had Harper running through the house from all the clicking noises. It would be wonderful if the wind and rain missed us, but now that I jinxed all my teams I probably jinxed that too. Did not expect to see Liverpool at the top or Everton respond so well after the loss of points, anything can happen the second half of the season. Enjoy the skiing!!🙂

    It sounds like a hunker-down and stay-at-home weekend (after getting the latte of course!). The only thing I would keep an open mind on is my Eagles defeating the Bucs. The regular season ended so badly for them it would be nice if they course-corrected in the playoffs.🦅

      We’re in a winter wonderland now and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the high winds miss us and out of all those picks, that Buffalo and Detroit win big.🏈🙂

    I hope you don’t lose power in the storm, be safe. Mandy Patinkin is still around? I remember him in a TV series called Dead Like Me I think it was called. And, in The Princess Bride.

        Yeah, I wish that show was still on TV! I’m watching the weather channel right now, 8 to 12 inches in Michigan! No snow here. 😂

        It’s…different. I think of the original Sam spade, and it makes more sense.
