The Week In Seven Photos

I have to shake off

my desire to withdraw into my shell as the meteorological summer kicks off tomorrow.

While many will be celebrating the hot weather and crowded festivals, concerts or carnivals

my quest for finding the perfect hot coffee

and enjoying a new author and book, while trying not to concentrate on the Halloween countdown (154 days), will continue.

I thought it was going to be difficult to smile thinking about extrovert season and 154 days until Halloween,

but just hearing the words β€œfound guilty on all 34 counts” has me feeling optimistic and raising a glass to β€œthe voice of the jurors” after a burst of hope.

  1. That poor guy – it could happen to anyone! Have an affair with a porn star, hope your partner doesn’t find out, hope no one finds out, cover it up with hush money payments, write those payments off as legal expenses, and run for president hoping the story doesn’t come out and cause people to wonder about your character? Yeah, if it happened to him, could happen to any of us! Honestly, Mandela had it easy…
Anyway, put that aside, hope Oilers-Rangers make it, and sit in the shade with a good book and a decent coffee, pretending election fever isn’t happening and the summer will be fine! And beignets!

    1. I wish the coffee, books, hockey and beignets could distract me more from my election stress!! I have no idea why I have a worse than normal attitude about summer, but for some reason between all the people, traffic and construction it feels like the world is very hectic round here and I never adjust well to only summer sports leagues. The Tour de France better hurry up and all the hockey series need to go seven games. If I had your fancy beignet shop I’m sure my attitude would be much different. Enjoy the weekend!!😎

  3. In the UK it’s reported that his followers are calling for people to riot in protest of the outcome, I can see why you’d be more stressed than normal. Also if they are crazy enough to elect him won’t he just pardon himself. I’ve got to say, I’m glad I live in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 no-one has or can have the power to can pardon themselves here.

    1. I’ve often dreamed of living in Scotland and I will never understand what has happened politically in our country the last eight years!! It is going to be a very stressful election and I pray I’m raising another glass on election night!!

  4. The book looks interesting. I had seen it and thought it was for kids but now I’m persuaded to read it!
