It’s a mystery to me as to why I was as cranky as the cranky great blue heron when I took this shot while out on my morning walk with Harper. Was it the rainy start to the day or that it’s going to feel like 101 degrees tomorrow or that I left my Nikon at home or that I failed to stop for my Pumpkin Spice Latte before the walk? Whatever the reason, the cranky heron must have appreciated my mood because he never left the dock when Harper and I joined him to share our mood meme of the morning – “You know how you just wake up some mornings and you feel so refreshed and cheerful, you’re like, ‘I don’t even need coffee’? Yeah. Me, either. And I don’t trust anyone who says they do. Uncaffeinated freaks.”
