This week I’m thankful for my first walk on Main Street this year and walk-up only coffee shops. I enjoyed a honey roasted almond latte while walking Harper back to the car, thankfully downhill. It was so wonderful to drive home with a good coffee and blasting Footloose and Tenth-Avenue Freeze-Out with Harper occasionally hanging her head out the window. I have a ways to go before any long walks, but I am very grateful that I had two days this week where life felt normal for a bit. Over the last four months I went from a caregiver to someone that needed help and I can’t tell you how good it felt to be able to take my mom to an appointment the other day and to be driving myself to appointments again. I’m extremely thankful for my niece, who has been spectacular making sure grandma is taken care of and not getting too feisty, but it was wonderful to be back.
