Last Month In One Photo

I haven’t written much lately and since I don’t take as many photos as when I did “The Week In Seven Photos” posts, I thought I would try this new category. The month of September was a very stressful month in my cancer journey. Started the month clinging on to hope, quickly lost all hope after the first week and fought back to ending the month with some hope again. My body is still reacting negatively to all treatments, but we’re trying something new to try to keep me on the current medication. In between all the stress, anxiety and sadness there were moments of laughter, like when my niece purchased this ghost and bought me a great coffee mug and spoon, There were also moments when I was able to not think about my cancer while watching our family of deer stopping by for dinner every day, an interesting argument between our backyard crows and turkeys and listening to the owls hoot in the woods behind our house. A few surprising things is that I now listen to podcasts instead of music in the car (which also leads to more stress, but keeps my mind busy) and I tend to watch more reruns of old shows compared to new shows or movies. As we begin a new month, I’m excited about October baseball, football, hockey, Halloween movies/shows and trying to hang on to hope.

  1. I noticed you haven’t been writing much and hoped things were ok. It’s clearly been a tough month for you but you’re still savouring those special small moments and still looking forward. Sounds like October has plenty of good things to come, including that cute ghost. Sending you gentle hugs and pumpkins of hope from across the ocean 🎃🧡🎃🧡🎃

    1. Thank you and I love the pumpkins of hope and appreciate the hugs!!🎃 After everything in September, I finally have my strength and hope back. I found Deborah James books at the right time and they really helped me get it back together. I never lost my hope over the last year until last month and thankfully she brought me back with her rebellious hope.🎃

    1. Thank you and luckily my niece always makes me laugh!!🎃 My thoughts and emotions were all over the place last month, but thankfully I have regained my strength, determination and hope. I’ve made it one year and I’m searching for as many treatment options available as possible.🙂

    1. Thank you and I have my strength and hope back to begin this month!🙂 I cancelled my Disney/ESPN subscription when they took Jimmy Kimmel off the air and haven’t signed back up again after they brought him back, but I need to in order to watch the Maple Leafs and Capitals.😱 Enjoy the weekend and hopefully your temperatures aren’t in the mid 80s too!😎

  4. Such a slog! Nature is such a lovely guide in these moments. If you have not yet James Rebanks’ new book, Place of Tides, I suggest you give it a look. Anyway, I hope things stabilize and you get some relief.

    1. Thank you!!🙂 I was diagnosed last November and I think I saved up all my emotions to express last month. My wonderful niece continues daily to find ways to make me laugh and more horror movies I just have to watch to keep me scared about something else.🎃

    1. Thank you!!🙂 So far I’m able to stay on this medication again and I still hope they can find a way to increase the dose. I’ve been busy with many doctor appointments trying to find more treatment options and I’m very glad to report I’ve felt good the last few days and have my strength and hope back again.🙂

  10. I am grateful I was inspired to get back onto WordPress recently, and am very happy to be stopping by here once again. You are most definitely front and center in all of my prayers, and it is so nice to hear you are generating positive vibes once more. I have always felt keeping hope strong helps keep us strong. I know you love this time of year (as do I) and I am sure the sights and sounds of the season will be a perfect environment for getting the medication and treatments right where they need to be.😊
