When we first arrived at the lake we were able to watch the sandhill cranes for a little while before a singing duo made it very clear with their loud, trumpeting sound that an expectant crane was in the vicinity. I was hoping the duo were singing tunes about life to the little chicks who had yet to arrive from some of the bands inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame over the weekend. The other option was that the singing was actually a warning sign that our company was not welcome during this private moment and then I would have to feel bad about intruding.
