The Week In Seven Photos

I don’t believe I’ve ever been thought of as the person that wears my heart on my sleeve, but

I’m really beginning to wonder if I’ve been wearing some of my codependency issues on my sleeve lately. Β Somehow I’ve turned into the woman that doesn’t go to the local park to feed the pigeons, but instead is going outdoors first thing in the bitter coldΒ snowy mornings to feed the turkeys who show up at daybreak.

Walking through the house with my morning coffee, I glance out the window above the Christmas cactus that is still blooming to always see a group of turkeys huddled together staring at the window wondering when breakfast is being served.

They know if they stare long enough I will come outside in any weather conditions and there are a few turkeys that I think conspire to make me believe that they are injured or are developing frostbite so that I’ll bring extra food.

Thankfully there are mornings when I’m gone before they arrive with their guilt trip and

then when I arrive back home I often find a beautiful feather as a reminder that they spent the day waiting for my return.

This may be the last flower photo for a while, with my codependency issues in high gear I may be spending extra money on more birdseed instead of flowers.

    1. Thank you and I’m glad someone is enjoying the snow!β„οΈπŸ˜β„οΈ The turkeys survived another rough week of weather and somehow they think they should get three meals a day and a snack before nighttime.😁

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ On the very cold days they remain in our yard all day huddled together between meals and on the few days over the last month that they’ve been able to roam around, they still make sure to stop by for breakfast and dinner.😁

  4. They probably do have frostbite (in these nasty winters). Great shots! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ It always amazes me to watch all the little birds flying around so easily all day in the nasty weather, but the turkeys look so cold huddled together that I know they are thinking I should have went south for the winter!😁

  6. Really got a chuckle out of your last sentence, ACI, because I go to similar lengths, filling feeders, filling feeders. Enjoyed your week of photos so very much, and I really liked the painterly sunset. Hope your weekend is fun….

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ We have found ways to make sure all the backyard visitors have access to feeders and the birdseed, but I thought we were going to have a brawl out there one morning this week when the turkeys and deer arrived together. No snow in the forecast for the next week, so I think the turkeys will be spending more days roaming around. Hopefully I will also be out wandering around this weekend since I’m already missing football (not enough to watch a replay of the Super Bowl, yet😁). Enjoy your weekend!πŸ™‚

      1. I was just mourning the loss of football yesterday, too, ACI. Good thing the weather’s getting better for both of us. πŸ˜€

    1. I’ve been wondering if they will disappear at the first signs of spring, but if not that may be the excuse I need this summer to find a dog to patrol the yard.πŸ™‚
