The walkers strolled by and appeared to miss the natural artwork as eyes were cast toward the warmth of the sky and its kaleidoscope of colors. They failed to notice in pockets of cold isolation, the frosty spheres illuminating and reflecting all of nature’s beauty in melting pools of light.
She had lost track of how much time had lapsed since the days spent watching the clock under office lights were traded for days gazing at the magical light of nature. The evening traffic and taillights were replaced with the mellow mood of dusk and pastel puddles of fading light.
The grandmothers and mothers had always found a way for the light to guide the lost souls home. The candles lit weekly at church with hope of a lost soul reaching salvation and lights left on throughout the house as darkness descended beckoning those without hope and nowhere to go.
